SUE Technician

KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. (KMA) is seeking a SUE Technician to join our growing survey group. KMA is seeking an experienced candidate with a strong ability to take initiative and exemplify leadership qualities and adhere to safety protocols.

Responsibilities: 

  • Operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck safely and efficiently and perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the vacuum excavation truck and related equipment. 

  • Be able to designate and locate a variety of underground utilities

  • Follow established safety protocols in all field operations

  • Understand basic traffic control procedures and the hazards associated with working in and around active traffic

Qualification: 

  • Must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and maintain it in good standing throughout employment

  • Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)

  • Basic mechanical/truck maintenance knowledge is a plus but not required

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test

 

Travel:

Occasional need to drive/travel to work sites (mostly day travel within NJ, with the possibility for some overnight travel to adjoining states).  Must have a valid driver’s license.  Company vehicles will be made available.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $26.00 – $41.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skills. This range represents a good faith estimate for this role in New Jersey.

  • Work Authorization: This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
