Survey Technician

Position Overview:
​
KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. (KMA) is seeking a Senior Survey Technician to assist our Survey/Mapping Manager in the preparation of project plans, layouts, and reports. The position will be based from KMA’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey office.
​
Job Responsibilities:
​
-
Assist with title search and draw deed mosaic plans;
-
Perform least squares adjustment for control surveys;
-
Process field survey data to CADD;
-
Re-establish construction baselines from as-built plans;
-
Process laser scan data/reduce point cloud data to CADD;
-
Prepare basemapping deliverables; and
-
May be required to assist with field work.

Requirements:
​
-
Three or more years of experience;
-
Knowledge of MicroStation and InRoads software;
-
Experience with Microsoft Office programs;
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
-
Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently, under direct supervision of the Project Manager; and
-
Demonstrated experience working on multiple transportation-based projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the positive attitude and motivation to become an integral part of the firm’s long-term growth.

Preferences:
​
-
Professional license;
-
Knowledge and experience with NJDOT, NJTA, County, and State Standards;
-
Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MicroStation V8i, and Google Earth; and
-
Knowledge of photogrammetry/stereo compilation.

Travel:

Occasional need to drive/travel to work sites (mostly day travel within NJ, with the possibility for some overnight travel to adjoining states. Must have a valid driver’s license. Company vehicles will be made available.
