Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer
(Highway Group)

Position Overview:

​

KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. (KMA) is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer –Highway (ASCE Level P-V) to provide oversight and quality control in the design and project management of highway engineering projects.  The position will be based from KMA’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey office.

​

Job Responsibilities: 

​

  • Work with senior management to prepare technical and price proposals, develop schedules and manage multi-discipline projects from inception to completion;

  • Represent KMA through regular interactions with senior executives of our clients;

  • Supervise the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and other related engineering tasks;

  • Provide oversight for the layout of horizontal and vertical geometries, design of ADA compliant facilities, cost estimation, traffic control, constructability, specifications, plan development, utilities, ROW, permits, client meetings, traffic data collection and analysis, and the preparation of NJDOT/NJTA/County project packages; and

  • The candidate may be required to provide oversight and design assistance to our drainage, geotechnical, structural, utility, environmental, mapping, and survey groups on an as needed basis. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently, under direct supervision of the Department Manager.

Requirements:

​

  • BSCE from an ABET accredited university;

  • Registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey;

  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years experience in Highway/Transportation Engineering Design;

  • Experience with NJDOT Design Manuals and Capital Project Delivery Process;

  • Demonstrated experience working on multiple transportation based projects, in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the positive attitude and motivation to become an integral part of the firm’s long-term growth;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads software platforms; and

  • Proficiency with Primavera scheduling software; or familiarity with similar project scheduling software.

Travel:

​

  • Occasional need to drive/travel to work sites (mostly day travel within NJ, with the possibility for some overnight travel to adjoining states).  Must have a valid driver’s license.  Company vehicles will be made available.
