Mid-Level Traffic Engineer

Position Overview:
​
KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Traffic Engineer with 3 to 7+ years of experience to join our growing Transportation Engineering Department in KMA's Cherry Hill, NJ office. The candidate will assist in the traffic design of highway engineering projects. Candidates should have a background in signal design, traffic analysis, MPT plans and/or intersection safety design. Good communication skills are essential in a team environment. Experience with NJDOT, PennDOT, NJ and PA Counties and or MPO is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Perform traffic analysis and design for traffic and other transportation related projects

Investigate design alternatives for cost and socio-economic impacts
-
Perform traffic signal design and analysis, striping, signing and utility coordination.

Perform traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro/SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS
-
Coordinate traffic elements of larger transportation projects with other disciplines.

Perform and/or oversee Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs

Perform Transportation engineering and traffic planning studies

Perform and review traffic impact studies and analysis reports

Conduct multimodal studies including pedestrian and bicycle studies
The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently, under direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

Requirements:
​

Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university/program
-
Candidates must possess familiarity with CADD software platforms: Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D in conjunction with Autoturn
-
Candidates should possess FE/EIT
-
Candidates should possess familiarity with Traffic software platforms: VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS software
-
Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle), crash data analysis and development of crash countermeasures

Preferences:

Professional Engineer (PE) license
-
Plan production via Microstation, with design experience
​

Travel:
​
Occasional need to drive/travel to work sites (mostly day travel within NJ with the possibility for some overnight travel to adjoining states). Must have a valid driver’s license. Company vehicles will be made available.
