Godfrey Joyner, staff engineer in KMA’s Highway Department, was awarded the 2nd Annual Joyner/Linton Award at the 2022 Joint ASHE North-Central NJ and ASHE Southern NJ Project of the Year Awards last night.
Richard Grubb, ASHE SNJ’s Education Committee Chair and member of its Board of Directors, created the Joyner/Linton Award in 2021 with the purpose of recognizing an individual’s outstanding service to the ASHE NCNJ/SNJ Education Committee. The award is named after its 2022 recipient (Joyner) and Javuan Linton, who started the first ASHE SNJ student chapters at Rowan University and Mercer County Community College, respectively.

KMA is pleased to announce the addition of Senior Environmental Scientist Walter Marks as the new Manager of the KMA Environmental Department.
Walter has over 30 years’ experience in the NJ State transportation field, including over 10 years as a Principal Environmental Specialist for the NJ Department of Transportation (NJDOT). Mr. Marks specializes in all aspects of environmental analysis, regulatory compliance, permitting, and project management for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, and similar Federal/State/local government transportation projects. He has also conducted intensive regulatory reviews and submits formal commentary on agency-proposed regulations and rule amendments. Walter is also the primary author of the NJDOT Overview of Environmental Regulations and Permits Manual, available on the NJDOT website.

We are pleased to announce that Naji Khoury, PhD, PE, MBA, will be joining KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. in August 2021 as a Senior Pavement/Geotechnical Engineer.
Dr. Khoury has over 20 years of professional experience in pavement assessment. He earned a PhD in Civil Engineering (Pavement-Geotech) from the University of Oklahoma (2005), an M.S. in Civil Engineering (Pavement -Geotech) from the University of Oklahoma (2011), a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Lebanese American University (1999), and an MBA from Notre Dame University (2020). He is a registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland, and Virginia.
Dr. Khoury has served as an active member on various transportation research board committees and has published more than fifty technical papers on pavement engineering, geotechnical engineering and geophysics in national and international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
